1. Who we are
Fairlancers ("we", "us") runs the website fairlancers.com, a remote-only freelance marketplace. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at fairlancers@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
When you sign up on our website, we collect:
- Whether you want to hire or to work
- Your name and email address
- Your country
- What you tell us you need done, or the work you offer
- How you found us (for example, the website or campaign link you came from) and the date you signed up
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is needed to deliver the website and protect it from attacks and spam.
We do not currently collect payment details, bank details or identity documents. If we need these in future to pay or verify freelancers, they will be collected by specialist payment and identity-verification providers, and we will update this policy before we do.
3. Why we use it
- To contact you about Fairlancers, including next steps for hiring or joining, and service updates
- To match employers with suitable freelancers
- To understand demand, such as which countries and skills people are interested in
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam or abuse
We rely on your consent (you chose to send us your details) and on our legitimate interest in running and improving our service. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Fairlancers, and only as needed:

5. International transfers
Because we serve people worldwide, your information may be stored or processed in countries other than your own, including Australia and the United States. We use reputable providers that apply appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information.
6. How long we keep it
We keep sign-up details until you ask us to delete them, or for up to 2 years after we last had contact with you, whichever is sooner. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your request.
7. How we protect it
Data is encrypted while being sent and while stored. Our sign-up list can't be read from the public website, and access is limited to the people who run Fairlancers, using accounts protected by strong passwords.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- See the personal information we hold about you
- Correct it if it's wrong
- Ask us to delete it
- Object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
- Withdraw your consent
- Complain to your local data protection authority

9. Cookies
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use third-party analytics that track you across websites. Your browser may store small settings needed for the page to work.
10. Children
Fairlancers is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Fairlancers grows, for example when we start processing payments. We'll change the date at the top, and if the changes are significant, we'll let you know by email.
